Basic Screen Capture:
Option 1: Set your hotkeys----Start/Stop/Pause your game recording with the hotkeys
Option 2: Start/ Stop/ Pause your game recording by pressing the FastCap buttons.
Note:
1. It is easy to adjust the record parameters (e.g. FPS, resolution, audio volume) to compress your game movie and get your designed
output. Please refer to FastCap's Video and Audio settings for more details.
2. FastCap will memorize your last settings and there's no need to reset the functions every time you want to record the gameplay.
Just press the preset hotkeys to finish recording your gameplay!
Save Path
Click the “Change” button to select a folder for your movies. The save path is the same as the directory in which you install FastCap in default.
Hotkeys to Start/Stop/Pause Recording
Type the keys in the boxes and click “Set” to assign the operative hotkeys. As you are playing games, press the “Start” hotkey (e.g. F8 in default) to start recording and press the “Stop” hotkey (e.g. F9 in default) to stop recording. Press the “Pause” hotkey (e.g. F8 in default) if you need to pause your recording and press the “Start” hotkey again (e.g. F8 in default) to restart it.
Buttons to Start/Pause/Stop Recording
You can also click the buttons at the bottom right of FastCap to Start/Pause/Stop recording besides using hotkeys.
Note:
You will find your recording saved in the defaulted folder or the newly set folder when you stop recording.
Tips: What is “Intelligent Pause”?
One of FastCap's unique features is its “Intelligent Pause” function. Pause FastCap (press the hotkeys or click the pause button on FastCap) if you do not want your gameplay to be recorded. Restart recording later. The segments of recording are smoothly connected with no interruption when you playback!
Record Audio
Click the “Record Audio” box to record the sound of your gameplay or movie along with the video.
Hide FastCap
Click the “Minimize FastCap” box to hide FastCap Screen while you are recording gameplay.
Click FastCap icon at the bottom right of your PC to show the screen of FastCap game recorder.
Schedule Recording
Click the box of “Schedule Recording” and preset the record time in the springing dialog to automatically start and stop recording of
your game.
Tips:
“Schedule Recording” is useful when you need to record a specific part of the movie or when you are not in front of your PC!
Video Setting
Frames per Second (FPS)
FastCap's default FPS is 30 under uncompression formats. FastCap supports FPS ranging from 5 to 40. Adjust FPS for your recording according to the system configuration of your PC.
Tips:
Normally, 10 to 30 FPS is perfect to generate smooth playback for your video.
Please keep in mind that higher FPS results in smoother playback but will increase the file size.
Video Resolution
FastCap Mini’s default video resolution is full screen, which is the resolution you set for your game.
Audio Setting
Select a Sound Card
Choose the sound card your PC currently running for recording the audio if needed.
Sound Volume
Click the “Sound Volume” button to adjust the sound volume for your recording if needed.
Note:
Some of the options in the “Sound Volume” may not be adjusted since your PC system does not support them.
Audio Device
Click on the boxes of “Audio Device” to set the sound output (16 bits, 22kHz and stereo in default).
