Then click the "Edit" button to visit the Settings dialog to modify the Movie, Screenshot and Benchmark settings and Click "OK" to save and exit the settings or Click "Cancel" to cancel the settings:

When you click the "OK" button to complete creating the custom settings for the specific game (e.g. WoW), that settings will be saved in the xml file (e.g. wow.xml). Click "Load Settings" (see Option 1) to select and upload it from your PC folder next time when you would like to make movies, take screenshots or perform benchmark of that game.
Option 2: Load settings
Click "Load" to load an image for the custom settings (e.g. a WoW picture for the WoW game. The WoW picture will appear on FastCapPro to remind you the game when you load the "wow.xml" file in future). This setting is optional.
Option 3: Notes for the settings
Input the author name, game name and the notes for your custom settings. When you load the xml file,the notes will remind you of the specific game and the settings. This setting is optional.
Note: FastCapPro has created a default settings' file (default.xml) in the PC folder. If you do not like to custom settings by yourself, just click "Upload settings" (see Option 1) and select the "default.xml" file to get start.
Option 4: FastCapPro's general settings
1. Selecting "Start FastCapPro minimized" will minimize FastCapPro dialog screen to the system tray when you run the program. You can click FastCapPro icon to view the dialog screen.
2. Selecting "Run FastCapPro while start Windows" to loan FastCapPro automatically when you turn on your PC.
3. Selecting "FastCapPro window always on top" will ensure the program window remains visible even when switching to another application. This option has no effect if you check "Start FastCapPro minimized" to minimize the program to the system tray.
When you run FastCapPro, you will see the FastCapPro icon on the system tray. You can access FastCapPro's dialogs by right clicking the icon:

Option 1: Save and preview FastCapPro movies
Option 2: Hotkeys to record game
FastCapPro lets you assign hotkeys to Start/Stop (e.g. F8) and Pause (e.g. F9) game recording. To change the hotkeys, click in the box and type a new key to be assigned this function.
Tips: What is "Intelligent Pause"?
One of FastCapPro's unique features is the "Intelligent Pause". Press a key to pause recording so to avoid capturing the unwanted video clips. The movie is smoothly connected with no interruption when you replay them!
Option 3: Video settings
Set Video Frame Size (resolution)
Selecting "Use game frame size" will capture the movie at the same frame size as the game screen. You can also record movie at other frame sizes:
1. Uncheck "Use game frame size".
2. Select video frame size from the drop down menu. You can choose 1024 x 768, 800 x 600, 600 x 480 and 512 x 384:
Frames per Second (FPS)
Clicking the "Frames per second (fps)" box (see option 3) and input the frame rate for the output movie. For example, you can choose a frame rate from 25 to 60 FPS for the movie. In default, the frame rate is 30fps for FastCapPro movie.
Game Video Compression
FastCapPro supports real-time compressing the movie during recording. You can select this function to generate a smaller file size movie. FastCapPro is compatible with many video compression formats (e.g. MPEG, windows video1, Intel indeo, DivX Xvid, etc.). You will have some of the compression codecs (e.g. DivX and Xvid) installed in your computer before you can select them from the dropdown menu of FastCapPro.
Take the following steps to set the compression: 1. uncheck "Disable video compression". 2. Select video compression codec from the drawn-down menu. In default, FastCapPro's compression method is Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2. You might prefer a different option. Experiment a bit, and select the one that gives the best result.
You can select "Disable video compression" to disable the compression and record in raw AVI files.
Option 4: Audio settings
Record Sound
FastCapPro supports game audio recording along with the video. You can disable sound recording by selecting "Record WITHOUT sound" (see Option 4) and add your own sound to the video in future.
Audio Properties.
If you want to record video with sound, you may set the audio properties (see Option 4):
Channels Mode may be set to STEREO or MONO.
Bits value may be set to 8 bits or 16 bits.
Frequency Value may be set to 44KHZ, 22KHZ, or 11KHZ.
Audio Compression
FastCapPro supports real-time compressing the audio during recording to generate a smaller file size. FastCapPro provides many audio compression formats (e.g. MPEG, MP3 and PCM etc.).
Take the following steps to set the compression:
1. Uncheck "Disable audio compression".
2. Select audio compression codec from the drawn-down menu. In default, FastCapPro's compression method is Windows Media Audio V2. You might prefer a different option. Experiment a bit, and select the one that gives the best result.
You can select "Disable audio compression" to disable the compression.

You can save the screenshots to anywhere on your disk. Click "Save" to select a folder to store game screenshots. By default, your game screenshots are saved in the "Screenshot" folder in the directory where you installed FastCapPro.
Click "Preview" button to view the folder where you stored game screenshots.
Option 2: Screenshot Hotkey
The "Hotkey (Screenshot)" lets you assign a hotkey (e.g. F10) to capture game screen. To change the hotkey, click in the box and type a new key to be assigned this function.
Option 3: Set image size
Selecting "Use game frame size" will capture the picture at the same resolution as the game screen. You can also capture game screen at other frame size:

Option 4: Select image format
Screenshots can be saved in Windows Bitmap (BMP), JPEG (JPG), and Portable Network Graphics (PNG).
Option 5: Keep on recording every milliseconds
When you check this box and input a time (e.g. 1000 milliseconds) in "Keep on recording every milliseconds", FastCapPro will capture a screenshot every 1000 milliseconds when you press the hotkey to start recording. The screenshot capture will be stopped when you press the hotkey again.

Benchmark Settings

Option 1: Save and Preview benchmark reports
You can save the screenshots to anywhere on your disk. Click "Save" to select a folder to store benchmark reports. By default, your benchmark reports are saved in the "Benchmark" folder in the directory where you installed FastCapPro.
Click "Preview" button to view the folder where you stored benchmark reports.
Option 2: Benchmarking hotkey
The benchmark hotkey lets you assign a hotkey to start/stop recording of the frame rate (FPS) between any two points in a game. To change the hotkey, click in the box and type a new key to be assigned this function.
Option 3: Update data every milliseconds
When you input a time (e.g. 1000 milliseconds) in "Update data every milliseconds", FastCapPro will calculate a frame rate every 1000 milliseconds. The shorter period of time FastCapPro calculating the frame rate, the more accurate the FPS graph will be.
Option 4: Additional contents to report
FastCapPro will include the system information to the benchmark report when Selecting "Hardware information" or "Memory usage".
Option 5: Show report after every test
Selecting "Show report after every test" will display the benchmark report to you in HTML file when you stop benchmarking.

Q1: How to record game movie, take in game screenshot or perform benchmark with FastCapPro?
Method 1: If you have created the custom setting for the game
1. Click "Upload settings" to upload the custom settings (e.g. WoW.xml) from your PC folder to FastCapPro.
2. Run the game.
3. Start/Stop or Pause the game recording, screenshot capturing or benchmark measuring with the preset hotkeys.
Method 2: If you have not created a custom setting for the game
1. Click "New" button to name the custom settings (e.g. WoW.xml). Click "Edit" button to set hotkeys, adjust video qualities and modify the various settings for the game. Click "OK" to save the settings.
2. Run the game.
3. Start/Stop or Pause the game recording, screenshot capturing or benchmark measuring with the preset hotkeys.
If you do not remember the settings for your game, you can load the setting file (e.g. wow.xml) to FastCappro and then click "Edit" button to view the hotkey settings and the directories you store the movies, screenshots and benchmark charts.
Note:
1. When you press the hotkey to start recording movie, you will see the word "Movie" and the game FPS (both in red) at the top left of the game screen. When you pause recording, the word color is changed to light yellow. The words will not be show in your output movies.
2. When you press the hotkey to take in game screenshots or perform benchmark, you will see the word "Screenshot" or "Benchmark" shown on the top left of the game screen. The words will not be show in your output screenshot or benchmark report.
3. If you press the screenshot hotkey to capture game image when recording a movie, the movie recording will automatically stop.
4. When you run both FastCapPro and the game, but do not recording game, take screenshot or perform benchmark, you will see the word "Idle" and the game FPS shown on the top left of the game screen.
